February Newsletter

President’s Corner

Fellow Spouses,

When Tami first suggested holding a meet and greet party this month, I was so excited. What a wonderful idea! Life in the military involves a bit of a revolving door. It will be so nice to gather everyone together for a girls night full of food and fun. The Meet and Greet party will be held on Friday, February 10th at my home. Check the meetup invite for more information. I hope that you can make it!

If you are expecting a little one this spring and have not yet been contacted about the upcoming baby shower, please be sure to let us know! We are excited to celebrate all of our new Shadow mommies! The shower will be held during the afternoon of February 25 - save the date!

Also - we have not forgotten our NOSC cookbook! They will be arriving from the printer shortly and will go on sale as a NOSC fundraiser. Stay tuned!

Cheers!
Katie

January Newsletter

President’s Corner

Dear Spouses,

Happy New Year from the NOSC! I'd like to give another big thank you to those NOSC members who were so helpful with the Children's Christmas party. We had several people help sort gifts from Santa/plan crafts for the children, volunteers at the party who helped tremendously, and lots of bakers who made delicious treats for the event. We can't do it without you - THANK YOU!

Please note the following change to the organization of the NOSC bookclub. Starting in January, the hostess will choose the book for monthly book club meetings. This is a great opportunity to read the book you've been saving! We are seeking hostesses for February and beyond. Please drop us a line if you are willing/able to host, and let us know which book you'd like to read!

Take care,
Katie

November Newsletter

President’s Corner

Spouses,

Happy November, and happy Military Family Month!

"During Military Family Month, we celebrate the exceptional service, strength, and sacrifice of our military families, whose commitment to our Nation goes above and beyond the call of duty. Just as our troops embody the courage and character that make America's military the finest in the world, their family members embody the resilience and generosity that make our communities strong. They serve with heroism in their homes and neighborhoods while they are without the comfort of having loved ones nearby." (President Obama)

We have many opportunities for NOSC spouses to share in the spirit of the season this month, including our fundraiser lunch which will raise funds for the NOSC and the baskets to be sent out with deployed crews over the coming holidays. Please watch your inbox for details...we will need YOUR help!

Stay tuned for more opportunities to support our servicemembers, families, and NOSC! We know that being a military family is not always easy, and we are here to support you now and always.

Cheers,
Katie

October Newsletter

President’s Corner

Hello,

Happy fall! Stay tuned for lots of events coming up with the NOSC - playdates, nights out, fundraisers, etc. Much like the chili fundraisers in the past, we will begin selling lunches at the squadron once a month beginning in November. Stay tuned for dates as we will need volunteers to sell food as well as cook!

Speaking of cooking, if you haven't yet submitted your recipes, it is NOT too late, but you are running out of time. We need your help! Recipes should be submitted here. (Contributor: your name, Group Login: ShadowNOSC, Password: shadow) or email/give them to Erika (erikajepperson@gmail.com) or Nicole (ntchandler80@gmail.com).

You may have noticed that Sunday night dinners have dropped off in recent weeks. This is because we don't have any volunteers! :( If your spouse will be out of town or on watch, plan ahead to have some families over. You can choose to provide dinner or to host a potluck. "The more we get together, the happier we'll be!"

Cheers,
Katie
